No co-op or Online play (I just think that versus mode could benefit this kind of title.)

Price really not worth it and DLC is just a cash grab The game only has Japanese Voice option (but I think due to how terrible new English and underwhelming Chinese option, so it should be fine) Sometimes its useful for extra Money/Ration but it has almost to no impact ~ Open-world strolling are incredibly underwhelming. Besides height (and chest for women), they aren't really noticeable (all male is six-pack hotcakes and all women is a fit model) ~ Character creation even though its good, it didn't really offer much change. Sometimes its downright annoying (Peasant, Bandit, Beastmaster or waiting Sorcery Captain) or very easy and OP (reinforcement, Night raid or capture base) ~ Every fight is literally the same with your objectives are capture base, deploy rams, kill defense captain, kill commander and repeat (sometimes its captures wall or use siege tower) so you have to get creative + Thanks to DW9, Chaos mode enemy didn't feel like a complete sponge (though other Musou Warrior is downright annoying to deal thanks to affinity system) + Strategy and politic requires a lot of attention which I actually like be it from Easy to Chaos mode + Character interaction was really enjoyable (sometimes funny)

To be fair, its my very first Empires series and here is my thoughts If that doesn't interest you then just hold off and hope to the gaming god's that koei get their act together for dw10 and finally give us a quality mainline game again. Save your money and buy either DW8E/DW7E or one of the many amazing koei spin offs. I don't know if there was any particular fan outcry for an empires game, but clearly something possessed them to make it and it wasn't their love for it. The empire menus are nice but who wants to play menu simulator? No luv. I cannot fathom why koei would waste any of their resources with this game if they weren't going to make improvements over dw9/dw8e. They've not bothered with it again since release and for good reason, it's an absolute waste of time. The combat system is more repetitive than anything we've seen in the series APART from dw6, the battles are all the same, the interesting create a warrior pieces are stuck behind overpriced paywalls and the difficulty is lacking any challenge outside of the usual sponge tank enemies. Whilst this games linear segmented battles and useless exploration would have actually done the base games 'run here there and everywhere' gameplay loop a tonne of favours.

Everything terrible about the base game that could have been used here to enhance the dry af gameplay and progression, such as side quests to build bonds, was scraped.
